They did it because they hate me.
So, I was talking to someone (and she knows who she is) and we ended up coming up with a massive list of 'five things'. Longer than this. Waaay longer.
Conner/Ethan, Conner/Trent, Jack/Sky, Syd/Z, Bridge, Nick/Xander.
Five Times Sky kissed Jack
1. He thought Jack had died.
Only for a few minutes, but they had been minutes in which he could hardly breathe. He’d wanted to kill, something he’d never wanted before, and he’d wanted to do it slowly and painfully, taking his time by breaking bones and drawing blood one drop at a time.
Except you couldn’t really hurt a meteor.
So, the moment Jack’s bedroom doors closed behind them, Sky kissed him. Because he needed to feel the heat and softness that meant alive, and he needed to get his breath back.
2. Jack had been nominated for an award, in recognition for the charity work he’d done since leaving SPD. Something about no one else doing more to change people’s lives. Jack didn’t care about the plaque, he wanted the $20,000 he would get with it.
But he hadn’t really believed he would get it. The evening of the awards, Sky sat beside him in formal SPD uniform, wondering what people knew about their relationship. Jack hissed at him to relax, and Sky watched as he set himself for disappointment, smile ready to congratulate the winner.
When he won, Sky kissed him.
3. “Yes!” Syd shrieked, when she saw where the bottle had landed. “Sky, you have to kiss Jack!”
Jack looked shocked. From the expression on Bridge’s face, he thought Sky would just walk away. Z looked amused and smug, raising her eyebrow at Syd.
Just to prove them all wrong, Sky kissed Jack.
4. After seeing Ally kiss his cheek, Sky kissed Jack’s lips. Because Jack was his, and Jack just better not forget it.
5. Jack lay still and quiet. Sky would have known he was unconscious without the nurse twittering at his elbow. Jack was always loud and full of life. Always.
Just like Jack was always brave, and always stupid, because getting involved in a fight now he was no longer a ranger couldn’t be described as anything but idiotic! Didn’t he know what civilian meant?
Sky blinked, realising Jack’s face looked blurred.
And bent down to kiss his forehead, feeling warm skin under his lips.
Five Ways Bridge tried to teach the rest of the team his special battle sign-language
1. Using flashcards, with diagrams that Syd had helped him draw, on the condition that he never tried to explain to her what they were for. Which might have caused some problems, if the rest of them had all been signing too each other about a plan of attack, and she hadn’t know what they were talking about. Or signing about.
But in the end it hadn’t mattered. Bridge had left the cards in the common room, and they had all disappeared. Maybe one of the cleaning robots? They sometimes got confused.
2. One at a time. He’d cornered Sky first, really just because Sky was his room-mate and therefore easiest to corner. Also because if Sky knew, Jack would probably get all sulky until Bridge taught him too. And since he was the team leader, he could just order the rest of them to learn!
Except Sky had curled up under his duvet and refused to come. As Bridge had been sitting on him at the time, Bridge didn’t think he’d been sleeping.
Though he supposed if Sky had been really tired…
3. With Cruger’s help. He explained his new communication strategy to Cruger, and thought he did a very good job. He even remembered to be tactful, because obviously Cruger wouldn’t be able to learn, having paws instead of hands.
Except Cruger had never gotten back to him about it. Maybe he should have left a note?
4. He’d been watching a TV show in which children were taught things through dance! He’d come up with a very simple routine which the others could use to learn the basic signs, such as ‘forward’, ‘left’, ‘right’ and ‘shoot’. Except as he was making it up, he kept thinking about new signs, so the dance had gotten quite long. But he was sure he could teach it to the others. He even set out a time for it, after a training session, and told them all so they could be ready.
But Z accidentally shot him with her blaster. Luckily it was on low power, but he never did get the chance to teach them his dance.
5. Eventually he went to Kat, who listened carefully and then pointed out that during a fight hand-signals might not be the most practical idea – because, obviously, you were busy punching, shooting, grabbing, and generally using your hands for lots of other things. Which was probably why no one had ever come up with hand-signals before!
So, Bridge decided to drop the hand-signals idea. But they still needed a way to prevent criminals from overhearing their battle plans. Maybe if they talked in code…
1. Kat. And maybe Cruger. A little bit. Because Kat had always understood, and always been there to help him fix just about anything, from computers to friendships. But now she had new cadets, and Jack always felt like he was butting in.
(And Jack did not miss getting yelled at by Cruger. He had no idea why he missed the big blue dog at all. Just…well.)
2. Syd. Because having someone around who was always willing to try and cheer you up was kind of nice.
3. Bridge. Jack had tried to make Piggy stand on his head, but it hadn’t really been the same.
4. Z. She was his sister, his closest friend, the half of him with the common sense. Ally wasn’t the same.
5. Sky.
Five Things Z secretly adores about Syd
1. She has mud fights with Bridge, shows no disgust while picking up spiders in her bare hands while Z shivers across the room, and plays with swords in her spare time. All while wearing pink, curling her hair, and fussing about her nails.
2. Her belief that money could solve problems. And her willingness to give it away, just in case she was right.
3. The way she would accidentally-on-purpose smudge her cheek with paint while working on her art. It looked cute, and for Z the vanity seemed to make it even sweeter.
4. The way she would try so hard to cheer the rest of them up, because for some reason Syd thought the best way to cheer Z up was to hug her. Lots.
5. Her touching attachment to the colour pink. Z knew it had to be her morpher screwing with her mind. Yellow was so clearly better.
Five Things Syd wants to ask Z
1. Do you really like yellow better than pink? Seriously? And would you like an eye examination with that?
2. I like your hair. So will you stop wearing those stupid headscarves?
3. If I told you I once touched myself while thinking about you, how would you react? (Because ‘masturbating’ just sounded too crude).
4. Do you like girls? Or am I doing all this dreaming for nothing?
5. Will you let me take you shopping? (And maybe model some of the underwear for me?)
Five Places Conner wants to take Ethan
1. The park. And then tie him to a tree or bench or something, because Ethan spends way too time indoors on his laptop.
2. London, to see Arsenal play soccer. Because, in Conner’s opinion, they play the Beautiful Game the way it should be played, attacking and flowing, with passes that could go through the eye of a needle. And there, watching them play, hearing the crowd chant and scream and sob with emotion, maybe Ethan would finally understand.
3. Disneyland.
4. To a restaurant. It was something they’d never done: maybe because it was too datelike, maybe because they both just felt it would be too weird. Two guys could get away with going to a movie together. No one really noticed them getting a McDonalds. But going to a restaurant that had cutlery and tablecloths and actual waiters?
Maybe it wouldn’t be a good idea. It wasn’t like it mattered. Conner doubted he’d ever get up the nerve to even ask.
5. To that geeky gaming convention he’d been babbling on about. Conner would hate it. But Ethan would like it.
Five Reasons Trent can’t help but love Conner
1. Because at first, he thought the utterly driven, completely determined side of Conner was reserved for Mesogog’s monsters. Then he realised Conner was the same on the soccer pitch, and Trent could just sit and watch.
2. Because Conner hates to lose. Hates it so much he won’t take anything seriously if he hasn’t a chance at winning. Which gives Trent the chance to make him happy, by letting Conner win in subtle ways Conner never noticed.
In ways he thought Conner never noticed, anyway. Until one day, when Conner just sighed and leaned back and told him to start playing properly.
And then Trent realised that while Conner hated to lose, he didn’t mind losing to Trent.
3. Because of the way Conner just accepts Trent’s art. He never asks questions about it, never comments on it. Just lets it exist, as a part of Trent.
4. Because Ethan gets Conner’s arm round his shoulder, Kira gets Conner’s flattery, and Dr. O gets Conner’s respect, but Trent gets Conner’s fury.
5. Because Conner felt the most betrayed, and took longest to trust him again, and asked the difficult questions that none of the others would.
Five Things that have caused Nick to question his sexuality
1. The way he gets so off-balance when Xander’s around. Half the time he feels giddy, the other half like sitting in a corner and having a sulk. It wasn’t normal.
2. He’d seen a leaf in Xander’s hair, and gone to pull it out automatically. Xander’s hair felt cool and dry, so soft against his fingertips the touch barely registered.
It was then he realised the leaf was growing out of Xander’s head.
That hadn’t stopped him from recalling the sensation later.
3. The way he kept wanting to hug Xander. At first, it was easy to resist, the impulse infrequent. Now he hardly saw the other boy without wanting physical contact.
4. Dreams.
5. In fact, it was really just Xander.
Any requests for more? (Though I reserve the right to refuse anyone asking for Alpha 5/RIC. Because I don't do robotsex. Especially not robotsex involving bestiality.)

And yes! Do! The more lists the better! And you're probably capable of thinking up your own, but we came up with ones like, Five Times Someone annoyed Someone, Five Times they almost got caught, Five kisses, Five touches, Five Things someone wants to know about someone...yeah.

Mainly because they've always had quite close links with Falkirk, which I have been raised to support from birth :). For example, we've currently got the wonderful Anthony Stokes on loan from them (two hat-tricks in a row, young player of the month, etc). But I like the way Arsenal play as well.

Anyway, keep writing these! As for suggestions... in keeping with my current interest in NS, Shane/Hunter? or Hunter/Cam, I'm not fussy. :)
