But it seems true. It's everywhere, absolutely everywhere (see goonernews.com if you don't believe that). Arsenal haven't confirmed but they always take ages.

I really think I might cry.

Because whatever he's been like last season, and however he's been acting this summer, this is still Thierry Henry. He is a legend - not just for Arsenal, but for football. I honestly believe he's probably the best striker in modern football.

I've been so annoyed with him recently, but the minute I read this I remembered what he was like two or three years ago. And I so want him to stay.

He's confirmed he's off, subject to a medical. I know he's had some fitness issues lately but he is a great striker, Arsenal will need to move fast to replace him.

Although if he could not score against Scotland again, that would be ok. :-)

I know. But seriously, who could replace him? I don't know, it's going to be very strange next season without him there.

If he could never score against Scotland again, that would be good. In fact, if nobody could ever score against Scotland again. Though we'd probably still find a way to lose.

There seems to be a dearth of good strikers in general at the moment. I can't think of one I really rate.

We would probably score for them (Tom Boyd vs Brazil, 1998) or have the ball move on the penalty spot at just the wrong time (McAllister, 1996) fall over each other while nowhere near goal (Hansen & Miller, 1982)...yeah, I think we could find lots of ways :-)

No...they all seem to have at least one serious flaw, whether it's not actually scoring many goals or having the personality from hell.

Ah, memories...

Hey Anita,

Just wondering how ya-all are doing after today's events (June 30th) at the airport. Hope you're not too badly rattled over there.

No, no one's really too bothered. I think there was more amusement than anything else, because I don't know what they were attempting to do, but...well, I think it failed :). But thank you for asking!

Aw you don't post much. It looks like you post stuff when I am not reading flist but I thought I would come and share sympathy with you because - well - we just lost Luis and I cannot believe it and it's just...awful, isn't it, losing favourites?

I feel your pain!

No, I'm not good at posting!

But we now have a new Crozillian (Croation + Brazillian) who will hopefully score lots of goals. And you have Fernando Torres who has pretty freckles. So I'm over Thierry now :).
